Yes I agree the stone circles look MUCH more impressive from the ground. The Kitchener Monument was being restored when we were there, and then later I was present when it won a Heritage Angel Award (in Edinburgh - an organisation I work with was nominated in another category. We didn’t win!) The standing stones look much more imposing from the ground, but it’s good to see the brough and broch from above.
