Halloween!

Last night was the Graemsay Halloween party, all the witches, vampires, ghosts, skeletons and aliens gathered at the Community Hall.  It was not a night for the faint-hearted.  Above is local Alien, Katie, doing her party piece for the evening.  All the children dress up, join the parade, do a party piece and then, and only then do they get their sweeties!

Scary alien, Katie

Did someone say SPIDER?!

Head Witch, Irene led the proceedings for the evening....

There were lots of other spooky folk around too.

LOTS of spooky people....

Alternative transport was available for those needing it.

Spooky food too...

A young skeleton is a little shy....

Then there is the parade of the ghouls and ghosties led by the head witch, Irene, of course!

Then it's time for the games.  Starting with the eyeball and spoon race.  Rather like egg and spoon race but with eyeballs, naturally.

And the "Eat a donut without touching it with your hands" game.... my favourite as it includes Cake.  Though in Orkney donuts are referred to as "cookies"....

And the bat and balloon race....

The adults have to play too. Especially if they didn't dress up!!

And the dooking for apples....

Some need a little help!

Some need a little more help than others....

A wee vampire needed a little advice (from ALL quarters it would seem!)

Then there is the "mummy" game....

So a good night was had by all!!

And me?  Well I am a natural witch of course ;-)

And my "familiar" Button, who didn't party with us, but had her own appointment with some mice in the barn!
