And yet another glorious Autumn day....
Hope you're not bored of the photos but it has been another glorious Autumn day today. I went out for a wander in the car - leaving Button at home keeping her paws warm! It's been chilly but glorious. Above is the road leading to the old Kirk. The sun just about to drop behind the Hoy hills, this was about 2.30pm today.
Below, a similar photo but with the croft of Dean in the shadow of the Hoy hills.
And a bit further along the road, Burra Sound between Graemsay and Hoy.
And the road up to the old School.

Not bored at all, on the contrary, amazed with those Graemsay Autumn sunsets.
ReplyDeleteAnd the last picture is exquisitely beautiful. Is that old school of some use yet ?
Glad you are not bored! The old school is no longer in use, it was going to be made into holiday accommodation but I think it is currently for sale. Just a little one room building.
DeleteNever, ever bored. I think I have seen more of Orkney than I have Nova Scotia. :) Always look forward to your pictures.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are still enjoying the pictures. It's a wee island and I don't go far from my door most days! But the ever changing weather and seasons help with the variety.
DeleteIt's amazing that you only get about 5 hours of sunlight a day in winter. Makes me feel a bit better about our crappy cold winters -- at least we get 6 whole hours of daylight. lol
ReplyDeleteSunset at the moment is about 3.30, though we lose the sun behind the Hoy hills before that. But yes we are lucky if we get 6 hours of daylight and if it's a grey day it hardly seems to get light at all. The summers however...... :-)
