Calm before the storm?

High winds and torrential rain are forecast for Orkney tonight and tomorrow.  But at sunset tonight (3.45pm) all was calm...... fingers crossed we miss the worst of it.

  1. That last photo was gorgeous. I'd admire to have a larger version of it to put in my wallpaper program I have on my computer.

    2. I would like that very much. Thank you. I do my job on my computer, and having pictures of beautiful places provide a delightful resting place for eyes tired from looking at words. They also provide a doorway into a land of imagination.

    3. P.S., if it is something you think you might like, the plain vanilla version of the wallpaper cycler program I use is freeware. You can download the free version here: http://www.nuonsoft.com/wallpapercycler/downloads.php

  2. sunset at 3:45 ... I guess I shouldn't be too surprised and it's dark here by 4:30.

    Hope you dodged the storm.

    1. Yes short days at the moment and getting shorter for the next month....sigh..... And the storm missed us - it was a bit windy during the day and our ferry was cancelled but it calmed down in the afternoon and the wind wasn't anywhere near as strong as forecast. We were lucky. In other parts of Scotland there is severe flooding...again...
