Hamnavoe sailing into Stromness |
I love the way the sunlight shines on the tower of the lighthouse, excentuated by the darker clouds behind....
It's that time of year again - silage cuttting for winter feed for the cattle and sheep. Summer goes so quickly...
Meanwhile Stromness hosted the "Snipe" championships - I thought Snipe were birds but apparently they are also wee sailing boats..... lots of races, lots of happy folk....
Summer is wonderful: but far too fleeting. Enjoy every minute.
ReplyDeleteI know! And today in August we have a gale and rain.... I am SO not ready for winter!
ReplyDeleteHi Sian, we have just discovered your blog, following a tip off from one of our daughters. Your perspective on Orcadian life is a mine of useful info that we look forward to exploring. We approve of the frequent references to cake :o)
ReplyDeleteWelcome to Graemsay! And thanks for taking time to comment. I do love hearing from people, though I'm not often very efficient at answering comments :-( Just took a look at your blog and really enjoyed what little I've read so far and have added it to my list... (the fact you clearly like Cake means you must be OK ;-)
