Time for tea and cake......

Yes I know I've been gone a while. I snuck off to Sheffield for a course, then Poole in Dorset for a holiday and then been busy catching up with "life" since I got back.  But... in all of that activity there was always time for tea and cake.....

My friend Sandra (of Simply Woven and More and on Facebook too) did this as a commission for me. Handmade on the island of Shapinsay she did this hooked picture using her own hand spun wool and sari silk. Seen here with tea and cake and a side of sweet peas from the garden (er no they are not sticking out of the mug, it's the angle I took the photo at!!)

As she knows me so well she added TWO different flavours of muffins.....

And of course a puss cat has to feature!  Can't leave out Button (who appears as a button!).

I have a space ready for it on the wall, just need to put it up there now. Right above the chair I will sit in to eat tea and cake! Ha!

While you're in the kitchen with me, note the new fridge freezer (smaller than previous one and I'm very happy with it and in case you wonder, there is a much larger freezer in the porch. Well I do live on an island you know!).    Anyway.... this is the Graemsay version of "Home Delivery" for household appliances! (and furniture and anything else you might want to get.....).

  1. Very nice commission! It's often time for tea and cake around these parts, too.

    1. I got it in our local electrical shop, though I had looked at John Lewis too who had the identical fridge/freezer for the same price (they deliver free to Orkney). But I like to shop local when I can! It replaced a large American style fridge freezer which was too big now there is just me. Plus I have a large freezer in the porch so only needed a small one in the kitchen.
