Foggy day....

Yesterday was very misty, with the sun breaking through eventually for a couple of hours and then the rain descending with greyness all around.   I loved the mist, casting fantasy over the landscape.

These photos were taken down by the old buildings at Sandside.  Above, the Hoy Hills have disappeared!

Looking towards Stromness, or a castle with turrets, or the land of Unicorns?

The Manse and Community hall have disappeared into the mist, just the turquoise sea in the bay....

And a hazy Hoy High Lighthouse!

What is hidden in the mist beyond?  Be there dragons?

And in case there be dragons, Button is in hiding....

  1. Dragons in the mist - how that would be something! You have such lovely open views there. Thank you for sharing them with the rest of us.

    1. That's one of the many things I love about living here - the wide horizons - mist alloweing!

  2. I jolly well hope there's dragons. And I will attempt to prove it during National Dragonfly Week, 15-23 July 2017.

  3. Yesterday was 82 degrees here after a record-breaking rainy season but I am envious of your mist and vistas!

    1. I am not good in high temperatures so I'll stick with our much lower ones! Though I do love to feel the warm sun on my skin.
