Graemsay Nativity

The last community event of the year was held on Christmas Eve.  The annual Nativity and Carol Service.  Organised by Irene of Breckan (again!).  As ever it was a lovely event and the children and young people did so well.  There was also mince pies and mulled wine afterwards and a bit of a sing song.....

Anyway here are some of the photos....  Above Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, two Kings, a shepherd and a lamb....plus gifts....

We were a small audience as some folk had to got to town to finish shopping.  But we all valiantly sang the carols!  Irene and Andrew providing the music.

The Head Shepherd....

An abundance of starts in the sky...

Mary and Joseph relieved to have found a stable, and baby Jesus nicely snoozing in a lambskin rug...

You have to extrapolate lambie to a "flock"....

The Angel Gabriel having delivered his message heads off (for a quick change into a King).

Mary practising to be Batman.... well clearly she has superpowers - she's female for a start. Haha!

Joseph asking the Kings what the ale is like at the Inn?

And the ensemble cast (have to say one of the king's acting was a bit wooden...), and the orchestra!

After mulled wine and mince pies (no photos of those folks, too busy eating!), it was time for a bit of a sing song with cousins, Andrew and young James providing the music.

And the cast get some well earned sweeties......

Hope you enjoyed sharing in our festivities!

  1. Yes , enjoyed it thanks. For such a small community you manage to do the whole range of festive activities.

    1. It never ceases to amaze me how much we manage. Most of the community take part in activities in some form or other. It might be quietly giving lifts, buying lots of raffle tickets, or a more active part in the proceedings. Frankly just turning up to be in the audience is great!
