The days are getting shorter....

Sunset is about 3.20 pm this week.  That means when the boat comes in at 4.15 it's almost dark.  This picture is a bit grainy but I love the reflections of the lights in the water....

  1. What peace there is where you live. I love to look at your island, and thank god for computers that let you live there but still work out in the world. By the way, I play that video of Red Orkney that you posted all the time-"Winter Solstice".

    1. Oh I know - I am SO thankful for the technology that lets me live AND work here! I love the video of the Winter Solstice. I post it most years now and will again. It's just so atmospheric.

    1. Some days are better than others aren't they at this time of year. If it's been cloudy and grey it barely gets light all day. But nearly at the shortest day and then the light begins to return. Yes!!!

    1. Sigh. I know..... BUT in the summer we have lots of light! So that's what I keep thinking about during the short winter days.

  4. We are really into the dark time now, aren't we? And you have less light than we do in the 'south'. I am looking forward to the year turning, but at the same time I like this time in a strange way.
