Randomness

Above, rosy sunset behind the Hoy hills. Below, tinging the clouds over Windbreck a lovely pinky orange.  If you click on the photo you can also see the rising moon.

Widescreen sunset from the front door of Sandside...

Meanwhile in the garden there are still plants flowering!  These are in a sheltered corner (sheltered is all relative in Orkney....).

Daisies also still flowering....

Some photos of the old byres at Sandside with some "filters" to add an atomospheric feel. Oooh the stories these building could tell - this one used to be a dwelling house before it would have got too damp and dilapidated and then turned into a byre....  Sadly falling into further disrepair now...

And through the window....

Last week I went over to Stromness to see the local Panto with a friend.  It was good fun, though the night was a wet and breezy one....  The Christmas lights are up in Stromness!

And with this Winter weather (yup it really IS winter now) Button snoozes through it all....

  1. Sorry I have lost you for quite a while, but now I have found you again and loved the photos. The Christmas lights in the rainy street are beautiful (but I could feel the cold damp wind!) and lovely to catch up with Button again.

  3. Oh, I love to see Stromness with its lights. So different when we were there, at the end of June!
